Types of Hand sanitizers and Face Masks

The outbreak of COVID-19 on the global level has pushed the entire humanity into their homes. Now the process of unlocking has begun in most countries and government bodies are trying their best to keep everything under control.

Citizens across the globe are pushed to extensively use hand sanitizer and N95 masks to protect their well-being. And in many areas, serious fines and implications are taken against people who are defying the rules.

While younger generation can organically fight this virus due to their elevated immunity level, it is the older generation which is at the high-risk zone.

In such situation, what needed is meticulously following the precautions presented by experts and having right kind of information about what kind of sanitizers and face masks should be used.

Hand-sanitizer: what to use and how to use

No matter how rigorously you wash your hands, there are times when we feel that our hands are not germ free. This is a precise reason why doctors recommend people to use hand sanitizer.

You can use an alcohol or non-alcohol-based sanitizer, as per your choice. If you are using an alcohol-based sanitizer then we suggest you check that it at least has 60% alcohol in its composition to be effective against killing germs. Here are some Dos of a liquid hand sanitizer use:

·         Squeeze 3-4 drops of hand sanitizer on your palm

·         Make sure that your hands are completely wet and covered with the sanitizer

·         Rub your hands together for like 20 minutes until they are completely dry

·         Make sure the sanitizer reaches all surfaces of your hands even the area in between the fingers

·         In case you haven’t washed your hands with a soap, clean them with wet wipes before using the sanitizer

N-95 masks: Types of masks and how to use them

N-95 surgical masks are basically loose-fitting disposable masks that stop potential contaminants to enter the mouth and nose region.

As per WHO guidelines, there were three kinds of COVID-19 masks that can be used:

·         Homemade cloth masks

·         Surgical masks

·         N-95 respirators

Homemade-cloth masks: These are made by using common material and reduce the risk of transmitting symptoms such as speaking, coughing or sneezing.

Surgical masks: They are superior quality masks and protect the wearer from sprays, large splashes of droplets and germs. It is highly recommended by doctors if they are living in a high-risk area.

N-95 respirators: They are more of a tight-fitting mask. In addition to protecting from germs and large water splashes, the respirator intact in the mask also help breathing

As we move ahead with our lives, we need to ensure the continued use of face mask and hand sanitizers for a safe future and faster death of this novel virus.
